November 19: E-Verify at the DCA

E-Verify is being used by employers to ensure that they do not hire undocumented 
workers. The Delaware Contractors Association is hosting an informational seminar about this important topic on November 19, 2008. Young Conaway attorney Teresa Cheek will describe the ins and outs of the federal government’s E-Verify system, which allows employers to quickly check the employment eligibility of newly hired employees and avoid civil and criminal prosecution. She will also discuss the current status of the E-Verify system and new efforts by the government to force federal contractors to use it.
This informational seminar, sponsored by the Human Resources Committee, is open to all DCA members, and will be held in the DCA Boardroom at 572 Stanton Christiana Road, Newark, DE 19713. The session is expected to run about an hour, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
